In his role as Assistant Dean for Multicultural Affairs, Dr. Jarvis M. Watson has served as an advocate of multiculturalism, inclusion, and diversity. Dr. Watson is a proud alumnus of Stony Brook University, where he earned his BA in English from Stony Brook University. After earning his degree, Dr. Watson earned a MA in Counselor Education (Community/Agency) from Kean University; and an Ed.D. in Educational Administration, Leadership, and Technology from Dowling College, Oakdale. Dr. Watson comes to the Office of Multicultural Affairs with over 14 years of working in both Student and Academic Affairs. As a former Senior Counselor and Assistant Director with the Educational Opportunity Program, Dr. Watson has been successful in serving the needs of students in the areas of counseling, advising, training, supervising, enrollment, and retention. He has also has extensive experience in the areas of administration, budgeting, alumni relations, fund raising, programming, advocacy, and community outreach.
