Activation and Reaction Volumes in Solution, Chemical Reviews, 89, 549 (1989).
Professor le Noble was a leader in measuring and interpreting activation volumes of organic reactions by measuring the effect of pressure on reaction rates. He demonstrated an electronic effect on face selectivity, using rigid and sterically unbiased adamantanes. He authored a widely used advanced organic chemistry textbook, and was Senior Editor of Journal of Organic Chemistry for 11 Years.
