Professor Haim's research in inorganic reactionmechanisms involved detailed kinetic studies and targeted redox and substitution reaction of transition metal complexes. His deep understanding of kinetics and mechanisms was an invaluable assest to colleagues and students and, through his journal editorship, to the larger scientific community. He was recognized as a charismatic classroom teacher.
