ICPS, AMC Prep, Robotics, and Research & Tech

All programs meet in the Humanities Building on the main campus of Stony Brook University.

The Humanities Building is one of three buildings that are adjacent to the Administration Parking Garage.

Getting to Campus and Parking

To find the campus via GPS, enter the address "100 Nicolls Road, Stony Brook, NY 11790." Or the follow the directions below:

From New York City, Nassau County and all points west:
Take the Long Island Expressway (LIE, I-495) eastbound from the Queens Midtown Tunnel in Manhattan or the Throgs Neck Bridge or Whitestone Bridge in Queens to exit 62, and follow Nicolls Road (Route 97) north for 9 miles.

There are three entrances to West Campus on the left side of Nicolls. Take the main entrance (second entrance), which is Shirley Kenney Drive.  

Get in the middle lane to cross the street and enter the garage. Parking is free on Saturdays. 

When you enter the garage, try to park in the right lane, which is parallel to Humanities.

Humanities Building 

The building name is on the other side, but here is a view from the garage. Take the entrance on the right.

There will be ICPS signs to guide you.

Humanities Lobby

When you enter the building, you'll be in the lobby. Take a left to find the Atrium.

Humanities Atrium

All students will convene in the Humanities Building Atrium. after which they will be led into their classrooms.

ICPS parents will leave for a workshop.

All other parents are free enjoy the campus eateries or relaxation areas after bringing their children to the atrium.

What's up with the dinosaur?

Majungasaurus Crenatissimus, commonly referred to as "Stony Bones," made it onto campus after professor David Krause found the skeleton in 1996, at a paleontology dig in Madagascar. Ten years later a 21-foot-long replica was installed in the administration building. It was moved into the Humanities building in 2023.
