Memorial Stadium Climb
EVENT POSTPONED
Due to flash flood watches and high probability of severe storms in our area, we unfortunately must postpone Sunday’s Memorial Stadium Climb. We will be in touch if we are able to set a new date.
Thank you for your dedication to honoring the 25th anniversary of September 11th. Although we cannot gather at the stadium, we invite you to remember and reflect, and explore these local initiatives:
- Stony Brook World Trade Center Health and Wellness Program: Learn about the ongoing healthcare, research, and support provided to 9/11 responders and survivors.
- Humanities Institute’s “In the Shadows of the Twin Towers” Project: Discover local stories, oral histories, and reflections commemorating the impact of the tragedy.
We deeply appreciate your interest and support.
Join us at Stony Brook University for a Memorial Stadium Climb at the Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium on Sunday, September 13, 2026, to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the events of September 11, 2001.
We invite you to join us as we climb the equivalent of the 110 stories of the World Trade Center Towers — a symbolic challenge to honor the courage and sacrifice of that day. The event is open to all members of the Stony Brook University and Stony Brook Medicine communities, including students, employees, our neighbors and area residents.
Whether you participate in the climb, walk, or simply attend to pay your respects, your presence is a meaningful demonstration of unity and remembrance.
Registration required.
