Client Recieves NYSBDC Next-Gen Entrepreneur of the Year Award

The Long Island SBDC (Stony Brook) was thrilled to celebrate Jawad Khalfan, CEO of SecureTech Systems, during a special visit from New York State SBDC State Director Sonya Smith as part of the 2026 NYSBDC Client Awards Roadshow in Garden City South. Director Smith presented Jawad with the prestigious NYSBDC Next-Gen Entrepreneur of the Year Award, recognizing his leadership, innovation, and business growth.

A proud double alumnus of Stony Brook University, Jawad earned his undergraduate degree and MBA from the SBU College of Business before launching SecureTech Systems in 2020. He has worked with SBDC Business Advisor Bob Harrison since 2018, leveraging advisory support to grow his commercial security integration enterprise. In another notable achievement, Jawad was also named the 2026 SBA Small Business Person of the Year for the New York Metro Area.

Joining the celebration were Long Island SBDC (Stony Brook) Regional Director Willa Smith, NYSBDC Advisory Board Chair Gina Colletti, and Troy Diaz, SBA Lender Relations Representative representing the SBA New York Metro Region.
