International Student Advisory Council
The International Student Advisory Council (ISAC) brings together a diverse representation of international students at Stony Brook University to communicate the needs and challenges of international students. Council members are volunteer student leaders who work on projects with the Office of Global Affairs to improve international student support and engagement at Stony Brook.
The International Student Advisory Council is a one-year commitment.
International Peer Mentors
Are you passionate about Stony Brook University and helping your peers navigate life on campus? Being an international peer mentor might be for you!
International Peer mentors are continuing SBU students who meet regularly with new SBU international students to guide them through their first year on campus. Mentors are trained on all available campus resources and connect with their peers to discuss acclimation and adjustment, academics, extracurricular opportunities, and career success.
The International Peer Mentoring Program is a one-year commitment.
Global Student Ambassadors
Global Student Ambassadors (GSA) serve as a peer and mentor for incoming international students in the Summer II session. GSAs facilitate summer orientation and adjustment to campus, providing English language practice, weekly social activities, and support with field trips around Long Island.
The Global Student Ambassador committment is for the Summer II Session, starting in late June. This is a paid position and housing is not included.
