Overview

The Office of Sustainability is planning to upgrade the kitchen exhaust hood controls in several dining facilities across campus. The new demand-controlled ventilation system uses optical and temperature sensors to monitor cooking activity and automatically adjust exhaust fan speeds based on real-time demand. This upgrade will improve ventilation performance while reducing unnecessary energy consumption during periods of low cooking activity.
