The PhD  in STEM Education at Stony Brook offers graduate education for those who wish to work as university or college STEM educators, K–12 directors and supervisors, university research and policy specialists, and classroom teachers with advanced knowledge of STEM education theory and practice. Students complete a carefully sequenced series of core courses, research experiences, and independent dissertation work under the guidance of faculty in STEM education and their cognate discipline.
