Dr. Ahmed Alrawi is social scientist and media, communication, law, and policy scholar who studies issues at the intersection of technology and society, encompassing the following two areas: 1) AI, surveillance, privacy, and implications of ICTs; and 2) Broadband policy and deployment.

Alrawi has over eight years of experience teaching media law and policy and digital technology courses in higher education. Alrawi currently teaches upper level courses at both the School of Communication and Journalism at Stony Brook University and the Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications at The Pennsylvania State University (online), including the following: COM 305 Mass Communication Law and Ethics, COM 491 Mass Communication Senior Project, COMM 380 Telecommunication Management, COMM 180 Survey of Electronic Media, and COMM 491 International Telecommunications.
