After receiving bachelor's and master’s degrees in History, Suresh Chauhan obtained a master's degree in Philosophy, all from the University of Delhi. While pursuing these degrees, he was awarded several scholarships, served on many committees, and worked as a reviewer for philosophical journals. He wrote his master’s dissertation in philosophy on “The Logic of Contradiction: Hegel After Aristotle", exploring questions regarding contradiction, metaphysics, and logic in Hegel’s engagement with Aristotle. His current research focuses on topics in metaphysics, especially Hegelian logic and metaphysics, while also systematically engaging with other themes and problems in philosophy. Alongside his philosophical research, he has formally studied the German language and completed a course in Translation Studies. Bringing these linguistic skills into practice, he has published the first Hindi translation of Hegel’s essay “Who Thinks Abstractly?" and plans to translate more philosophical texts, including Hegel’s works, into Hindi.

When not doing philosophy, Suresh enjoys cooking, listening to poetry, watching films, and mostly hanging out with friends.

Research Interests: Ancient Philosophy, Aesthetics, Social and Political Philosophy, Ilyenkov, Dialectics, and Indian Philosophy
