Roni Shitrit

Violin Instructor

Israeli violinist Roni Shitrit has established herself as a force to be reckoned with, combining brilliant virtuosity and a captivating stage presence.

Roni made her debut at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall following her second prize in the New York International Artists Association Competition. She has won many competitions worldwide, including first prize in the MTNA National Competition, first and special prizes in the Moscow International Competition, and the prestigious Bruno Frey Music Prize in Germany.

Roni has given recitals in Italy, Israel, Germany, and throughout the United States, and performed as a soloist in the US, Canada, and Italy. An avid chamber musician, she has collaborated with renowned artists such as François Benda, Ida Bieler, Jan Vogler, Peter Wiley, Tatjana Masurenko, the Verona Quartet, and members of the Fauré Quartet.

Roni is currently pursuing a DMA at Stony Brook University with Jennifer Frautschi. Previously she studied at The Juilliard School and the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Her teachers include Ida Bieler, Li Lin, Sheryl Staples, and Oscar Shraiberman.

Roni is supported by the American-Israeli Cultural Foundation and the Ronen Foundation. She performs on a Nicolo Gagliano violin, Naples, c.1780 “Ex-Mischakoff,” which is on loan from the Ryuji Ueno Foundation and Rare Violins In Consortium.
