Fangfang Liu
Guitar Instructor
Fangfang Liu is a classical guitarist and educator currently pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Stony Brook University, where she also serves as a Teaching Assistant. She holds a Master of Musical Arts degree from the Yale School of Music, where she received the Ben Verdery Guitar Prize, and a Master of Music degree from Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music. She earned her Bachelor of Music degree, magna cum laude, from the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University.
Fangfang has taught guitar at Yale University and Indiana University and has experience working with students at various levels. As a performer, she has appeared throughout the United States and Asia at venues including Carnegie Hall, Spivey Hall, and Beijing’s National Center for the Performing Arts. She has also performed with ensembles including the Yale Philharmonia, Yale Camerata, and Yale Collegium Musicum. As an educator, Fangfang is passionate about developing students’ technical and musical foundations while encouraging creativity, curiosity, and individuality.
