2026 CEAS Involvement Fair Connects Students With Clubs and Organizations

Twenty-one student clubs and organizations participated in the event, providing students with information about each group’s activities, opportunities, and ways to get involved. The event also featured games, ice cream, and a visit from Wolfie.

For many of the participating organizations, the fair provided an opportunity to connect directly with students interested in finding ways to get involved outside the classroom.

“The CEAS Involvement Fair is the quickest way you can see how to get involved on campus and grow as an engineer and in STEM,” said Oscar Lin, President of SBU ASME.

The Stony Brook Robotics Team saw a strong response from students interested in learning more about the organization.

“The event was a really great way for us to reach out to the many students interested in Robotics. Our following team meeting was absolutely packed to the brim! It was a great opportunity and we’d love to come back next year to the CEAS Involvement Fair to promote our club,” said Arash Khan, Mechanical Team Lead for the Robotics Team.

“The annual CEAS Involvement Fair is a great opportunity for CEAS-supported student organizations to recruit new members and encourage students to get involved and find their community at Stony Brook. Our student leaders showcase the great events/workshops they host, explain the technical and non-technical skills they can help other students develop, discuss the importance of student leadership and how it will help them on their career path, and review the design projects and hands-on experiential learning they foster all year to prepare for national/international competitions.”

The event also gives students and members of the CEAS community an opportunity to connect in a more informal setting.

“It's also always great to see CEAS students connecting with each other and CEAS faculty/staff over a snack and a fun game, like corn hole or Giant Jenga. This is one of the many CEAS initiatives that aims to meet our goal of increasing engagement and a sense of belonging in our college.”
