Located on Long Island, an hour east of New York City, Stony Brook University is one
of the premier research institutions in the United States. Stony Brook University offers semester or year long programs for exchange or visiting
students from our prestigious partner universities around the globe.
In addition to the challenging courses, we encourage all students to engage in the numerous opportunities and activities we have to offer. Our students come to enjoy the campus life and have quickly become active member of our campus community.
Our course catalog contains all undergraduate courses offered at Stony Brook University.

Phase One: Before acceptance students must provide the following documents.
*Note: Completion of phase one is due May 1 for Fall Semester and October 15th for
Spring Semester.
Complete the online application and upload the following documents:
Study Statement: A one page, typed Study Statement uploaded to your application.
Passport: Upload a clear copy of the information page of your passport.
TOEFL (if applicable): Exchange/Visiting students must have a minimum of:
- 80 TOEFL IBT (taken before 01/21/2026)
- 4 TOEFL IBT (taken after 01/21/2026)
- 6.5 IELTS
- 05 Duolingo
Upload a clear image of your unexpired proficiency score. Stony Brook University does not accept MyBest scores.
