PhD Application Fee Waivers

Application fee waivers are available for a limited number of Geosciences Ph.D. applicants (domestic and international).

The waiver form for the Fall 2027 admissions cycle opens on October 15, 2026 and will close on December 15, 2026

Note: We cannot waive fees for applications that have already been submitted.

To be considered for the fee waiver you should have, or will have by the end of Spring 2026, the equivalent of a 4 year undergraduate degree and/or a Masters degree in earth sciences, space sciences, biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, or engineering. You should have the equivalent of a U.S. GPA of at least 3.25. In addition to academic performance, we will also consider the research interests of the student and how well they match our program. Note that being successful in the pre-application for the fee waiver is in no way a guarantee of admission. If your fee waiver request is declined, you will be required to pay the fee in order for your application to be considered for admission.
