The Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) at Stony Brook University provides brief therapy and support for students dealing with mild to moderate emotional or psychological distress. This includes common college-related concerns such as academic stress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and challenges adjusting to campus life.

The Credit Evaluation Services office provides comprehensive support for undergraduate students by reviewing and posting transfer credit, including previous college coursework, standardized test credit, and approved courses taken elsewhere while enrolled at Stony Brook University. Students can use the transfer equivalency database to see how courses have been or require evaluation, and find information on how to send transcripts to Stony Brook.
