CBTP Retreat: Beyond the Bachelor's
What to expect?
This event aims to introduce undergraduate students to graduate education and research
at the interface of chemistry, biology, pharmacology, and related disciplines. Our
goal is to help students better understand what graduate school is, explore different
career pathways in science, and address common questions and misconceptions about
pursuing higher education.
This event will include:
- Faculty and graduate student panel discussions on graduate school, research, and career pathways
- Interactive networking and mentoring with current Stony Brook University graduate students
- A research poster session featuring undergraduate and graduate student research
- Guided laboratory and campus tours
- Information about undergraduate research opportunities and graduate programs at Stony Brook University

Transit Directions
It is recommended to take the Port Jefferson line of the Long Island Railroad leaving from New York Penn Station. This stop is on the northern edge of campus. From there, an SBU bus can take you directly to the Student Activities Center. You can find more detailed transportation instructions here. Reimbursement forms for travel will be provided at the event.
