Emma del Carmen Castillo Ramos is a first-year PhD student in Art History and Criticism with a Fulbright MinCiencias scholarship. Her research focuses on the representation of nature and rural visual culture in twentieth-century Colombia and its relevance to contemporary counter cultural and environmental practices. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Visual and Plastic Arts from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia and a Master’s degree in Cultural Landscapes, Heritage, Memory, and Conflictualities (DYCLAM+), as part of the Erasmus Mundus scholarship program.
