You are a first-year student if you would be entering SBU in the fall or spring after graduating from high school.
You are also a first-year student if you have never received college credit since leaving high school, regardless of your age or whether you ever graduated.
Taking courses during the summer term immediately following high school graduation does not make you a transfer student.
You are a transfer student if you have completed, plan to complete or will have completed coursework at a regionally accredited college or university after graduating high school and before enrolling at SBU (excluding the summer term immediately following high school).
You are an international student if you will have a F-1 student visa or have another type of temporary, non-immigrant visa.
