Parking and Transportation
Parking Permits
If you park at Stony Brook Southampton your vehicle should be registered and display a valid Southampton Parking Permit. Please read the following conditions and instructions:
- You will need your Southampton ID card and Department of Motor Vehicle Registration in order to complete the process online or in person.
- Only one parking hangtag will be issued per employee/student.
- The permit belongs to the individual and not the vehicle, so you can move the hangtag from vehicle to vehicle.
- You can register up to 4 vehicles on one permit.
- Only vehicles registered in New York State will be eligible to register and receive a permit via the website. Applicants with non-New York license plates must bring their vehicle registration and Stony Brook Southampton ID to Parking Services, located in the Southampton Student Services Office, Room 104 in the Student Center, or at the Stony Brook campus at 254 Administration Bldg. You may also contact Doreen Mastrototaro at (631) 632-9796 to process the request by phone.
- All permits requested online will be available for pick-up at the Student Services office in Southampton 48 hours after the request has been submitted.
- A faculty/staff permit will allow access to faculty/staff parking at both Stony Brook Southampton AND Stony Brook University.
- Southampton commuter and resident students will have commuter parking privileges at Stony Brook University.
