Our mission is to play a major role in the Long Island region by supporting, strengthening, and developing school-community-university partnership programs.

- Teacher Opportunity Corps
- Essay Contest for secondary school students on the Italian-American Experience.
- Essay Contest for all Long Island HS & College students on the Long Island History. Contest Winner’s topic is published in the Long Island Historical Journal (LIHJ).
- Earthstock 2007 - Involved school districts in the Stony Brook area for potential exhibitors/participants promoting the theme of Sustainability- Our future is Today.
- Differing Roles: Building Bridges with Consensus - Cosponsors with LIRSSC a teacher’s workshop for Professional Development.

Getting to Know Your Career with Comsewogue High School Students - Group Session at Meadows Club to generate interest in teacher education to high school students.
- Reading is Fundamental - Annual collaboration between the Comsewogue School District and the Professional Education Program to interact with students on this theme.
- Cooperative Learning - A professional development workshop conducted for Sachem High School .
- Federal Duck Stamp Contest - A Statewide environmental art competition for K-12 students. Judging hosted by Stony Brook. To learn more click here.
- Eastern Suffolk BOCES’ Model Schools Program - The annual Celebration of Technology in Education (CTE) event at which K-12 teachers and students in the 53 Eastern Suffolk BOCES districts showcase the educational technology projects they use in their classrooms to support student learning.
- Laurel Hill School Mentoring Program - Provide mentors from the Stony Brook community for Laurel Hill School (grades 6-8). This high-level specialities program encompasses mathematics, science, engineering, technology, debating, and writing. Projects are designed for students who are motivated by the opportunity to explore the frontiers of their imagination.

- Pre-College Japanese Language Program - Collaboration with the Pre-College Japanese Language Program to promote the Japanese language for high school students.

- ENGAJE Long Island Grant - Enrich, Nurture, Grow through Aligned Jewish Education. A grant to capitalize on the family's openness to becoming a part of the Jewish community while they have children in early childhood programs. Collaboration with SAJES ( Suffolk Association for Jewish Education Services) to promote this program in order to enhance research in this area.

- JCSB - Canon Essay Competition - The aim of this essay contest is to promote awareness and understanding of Japan in the United States, and to help young Americans broaden their international horizons. Public relations for this essay competition in the New York City and Long Island areas is cosponsored by the Professional Education Program.
