SBU Signs Licensing Agreement With Siemens For Virtual Colonoscopy Technology
Stony Brook University President, Shirley Strum Kenny announced today that Siemens Healthcare Sector of Germany has signed a landmark non-exclusive license agreement with the University. The license agreement is for the portfolio of innovations related to performing three-dimensional virtual examination, navigation and visualization, the most common use for which is “virtual colonoscopy.”

Ray C. Williams, DMD, an internationally known researcher and educator in dental medicine, has been named dean of the Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine. Former NYPD Commanding Officer Appointed Chief of Stony Brook University Police Department
Robert J. Lenahan has been appointed Chief of Police at Stony Brook University, announced President Shirley Strum Kenny. Lenahan, a 26-year veteran of the New York City Police Department, most recently served as Director of Campus Emergency Management for Stony Brook University. He brings his extensive experience as a troubleshooter in law enforcement, security, and crisis management to further fortify and oversee the Stony Brook University Main Campus, Research & Development Park, Manhattan Campus and Southampton Campus.
