The Johns Hopkins Guide to Literary Theory and Criticism - excellent resource for basic information regarding literary theory and criticism. The French section is divided into six time periods: seventeenth century, eighteenth century, nineteenth century, early twentieth century, 1945-1668, and 1968 and after. Within each time division, it is also possible to link to individual theoreticians in order to obtain a more detailed description of their work. There is also a section on French Canadian Theory and Criticism.
