Why Does Stony Brook University Have a Sample Lender List?

Stony Brook University takes financial aid advising very seriously which is why we’ve developed a Sample Lender List.

A lender list is a tool used to assist students and families with the decision making process of choosing a lender. There are, literally, hundreds of student loan lenders from which you can choose. The list also provides an indication of loan programs which, in the University’s opinion, provide services that are suited to the needs of student and parent borrowers. But keep in mind, the final choice is yours. This choice includes the decision to select a lender NOT included on the lender list.
