  • THREE VILLAGE INN - MAIN STREET ON THE HARBOR
Known for most of its existence as the Old Homestead, this historic structure was built in 1751 by Richard Hallock, a farmer. He must have known people would visit from far and wide for a long time and used the strongest materials available at that time. The beams in the main building are original, with pegged mortise-and-tendon joints. Captain Jonas Smith, one of the country's most prominent shipbuilders at that time, purchased the house from Mr. Hallock circa 1835. The mural on the ceilings of the Jonas Smith and Hallock rooms is reminiscent of the period in which they lived. Today the Miaritis family continues a long tradition of hospitality and fine dining that Philanthropist Ward Melville began in 1939 . Completely restored and redecorated, the Inn is one of Long Island's most beloved places to enjoy an impeccable meal, celebrate special occasions and spend a wonderful night.
